A Roofing Company Built Around Castle Rock's Rules

Castle Rock Roofing Co exists because roofing in Castle Rock is genuinely different from roofing in the rest of the Denver metro. The Town of Castle Rock is a home-rule municipality with its own Building Division, its own adopted codes and its own inspectors. A crew that treats Castle Rock like another county suburb will miss the mid-roof inspection, get surprised by the tear-off rule, and leave you to sort out the paperwork. We built our process in the opposite direction: start from the Town's checklist, then write the scope.

That matters more in 2026 than it ever has. Castle Rock adopted the 2024 International Residential Code along with the 2025 Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code, which applies to re-roofs starting June 30, 2026 and classifies every parcel by fire intensity. Two identical houses on opposite sides of town can now have different legal roof options. Reading those rules before quoting is not a nice-to-have anymore. It is the job.

We do not publish fake team photos or invented years-in-business numbers, here or anywhere. What we will put in writing is how every job runs:

• Permit first. The re-roof permit is pulled through the Town's eTRAKiT portal before material lands on your driveway, and the inspection card stays posted on site.
• Full tear-off, every time. Castle Rock prohibits overlays and requires removal down to the deck including old underlayment. We photograph the open deck so you see what your new roof sits on.
• Mid-roof inspection scheduled by us. The Town inspects during installation. Missing that visit means uncovering finished sections or paying for an engineer's letter, so we build the inspection into the production schedule, not around it.
• Scopes written against the code. Ice barrier and drip edge per the adopted IRC, ground snow load at 30 to 40 psf depending on your elevation band, and wildfire-code covering checks for your parcel classification.
• Insurance honesty. We document hail with dated photos and NOAA references, we never invent damage, and we never offer to absorb deductibles. Colorado law is clear on that, and so are we.

Three local forces age a Castle Rock roof faster than the national brochure numbers suggest:

• Hail on the Palmer Divide flank. NOAA's storm database logs a dozen entries of 1.00 inch or larger hail for Castle Rock since 2016. The June 8, 2019 event reached 2.50 inches, and storm reports tracked the June 8, 2026 corridor straight through Castle Rock and The Pinery.
• Altitude UV at roughly 6,224 feet. Thinner atmosphere means harder UV cycling on shingles, faster granule loss and earlier sealant fatigue than the same product sees at lower elevations.
• Freeze-thaw and snow load. The Town's stepped snow-load amendments exist for a reason. Ice damming at eaves and valleys is a design condition here, not a rare event.

Every scope we write treats those three as the baseline, which is why we lean on Class 4 impact-resistant shingles for most Castle Rock homes and price them next to standard architectural shingles so you can see the trade honestly.
